Students learn consultations, equipment settings, records, and aftercare. The Professional Medical Esthetician Diploma provides 1,400 hours, including more than 400 hands-on hours. The 750-hour Medical SPA Specialty offers a focused alternative. Both run at West End Academy in Ottawa.
Neither program makes a graduate a regulated health professional. Ontario’s policy states that esthetics training does not provide competence to perform controlled acts such as Botox or filler injections.
